Beta Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated was established in Boston, Massachusetts on December 21, 1935. Beta Alpha has had the privilege of being the first chapter in the New England area, giving life to other chapters across the area.

Beta Alpha's agenda is set to establish a chapter where brothers are allowed to be individuals, yet provide service to the Boston community (collegiate and residential) as one entity. We pride ourselves on our diversity, our ability to be role models, and our leadership in the Greater Boston community. Beta Alpha chapter has been, continues to be, true to the principles of our fraternity.

Since December 1935, Beta Alpha chapter has been a brand of excellence. It is a chapter that encompasses strength, intelligence, brotherhood, and integrity. We've disbanded stereotypes; and redefined the word, “brotherhood”. We hope to attract individuals with a strong sense of self, willingness, and the ability to carry themselves in a positive manner. Our brothers will forever build on our strengths and refine our weaknesses, because "Sigma is not a bequest, but a conquest".

Our goal is to enrich the Greater Boston collegiate community with our ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service and live by our motto "Cultural for service and service for humanity." We look to bring forth the men who will become the pillars of our communities today and the outstanding leaders of tomorrow.
